With the development of dynamic rotational grazing, ewes grazing small area are often devoid of shade.

The trick is an artificial shading system that can be easily moved with a quad bike. In this prototype designed and developed at the Campus des Sicaudières, 25 m² of shade are available for ewes. This trick is now taken by a company that is considering a larger area of shadow in the commercial version. This trick meets the expectations in terms of animal welfare while being not very constraining at the work level.

It received the special Jury Prize at the TechOvin 2017 Smart Shepherd french contest.
