Low stress handling of lambs/ewes – using a plastic bag on a stick or a flag to move sheep meant the animals were less fearful from loud noises and could be moved calmly through the handling pens. Pens were also designed so that sheep moved from dark spaces into lighter areas whenever possible so they wanted to move in the right direction to get through the system.
